On behalf of Passage West Ladies football club and main club we would like to to say a very Big Big thank you to everyone for helping with the Passage West under 8s and 10s girls football blitz on Saturday the 13th September.
We were blessed with the weather which made the day even better. Thanks to the Passage West GAA Club for all their help. Thanks to all the people who made sandwiches, cakes, all our sponsors, all the people who helped on and before the day, all the young kids and members/non members who helped us. A special thank you to Jonny, Eddie and all the Rowing club crew for given up their time for the GAA club. Thanks to Timmy, Paddy, Wayne, Elaine, Austin, Lynda, Mary who put in weeks of hard work in getting the club ready to make the day a success. Thanks to all the locals for their cooperation. The Cork Senior players and the All Ireland winning under 14s and 16s girls team who showed up to meet all the under 8s and 10s girls. Catherine Ring of Knocknagree for all her help. Minnie and Mickey mouse and all the other Disney friends. The Cork ladies County board and the Munster board. Thanks to all the clubs who gave us goal posts for the event, Ballypheane, Mayfield, Douglas, Shamrocks, Ballygarvin and Glanmire.
A special thank you to Mary Beades who did all the fixtures, ref’s on the day and all the teams who took part it was great to see all 74 teams playing football and to the Carrigaline Pipe Band who lead all the teams into the club. Again thank you to you all for making this a special day for the young girls and making special memories for the girls. The night ended with a disco in the club House that night for all the teams who stayed over.
We hope to make next years event even bigger and stronger and Ladies football need these types of events to promote ladies football. So we hope to see you all again next year.
