Special Thanks

A big big thank you to all the clubs from all in Passage West Ladies football club, juvenile club and main club for taking part in our Blitz this year.

We had approx 5000 people at this years blitz . We had 123 teams this year with teams coming from Kildare, Dublin, Wexford, Tipperary, Limerick, Kerry, Clare, Waterford, Laois, Kilkenny and Cork. We will have pictures up in the next week once they all come in plus videos.If any one has pictures or videos of your team or any pictures from the blitz can you please email Tony on [email protected] and he will put them up on our blitz website passagewestgaaladiesfootballblitz.

Thanks to the Passage West GAA Club,the grounds staff especially Ned, Austin, Martin, Eddie, Wayne, Lynda for the hard work and long hours they put in to make sure the club grounds were in in perfect condition for the blitz, the local community, all the local clubs in Passage West for all the help we got on the day and before. Thanks to Liam Cusack for designing the pitch plan. Thanks to Sean Mc Grath for helping out with designing the help posters for volunteers on the day. Have to say a big thank you to all the club and non club members for all their help in setting up especially the days prior to the blitz.. Thanks to Ian Lester for sorting out the traffic management. Thanks to all the local residents for your cooperation on the day. Thanks to all who helped with the clean up especially young members.
On the day itself thanks to all the clubs  in Passage West community for helping out, too many to mention. Thanks to all the clubs that entered, Kieran Keane, Elaine McCarthy, Carolyn Mullane, Wayne Atkinson for organizing the Referees for all the under 8s and under 10s games. Thanks to the rowing club, soccer club, karate club, Tidy Towns, Men’s Shed and all the other volunteers that gave up their time for the blitz. The local Garda in helping out with traffic.

Thanks To Nemo Rangers and Shamrocks for helping us out with goal posts for the day. Thanks to all our sponsors, Barrys Tea, The Evening Echo, MC Donalds for doing the face painting, M & J Gleeson Group, CMP, Supervalu, Centra in Rochestown, Musgraves, Ferreo, Clonakilty Blackpudding, AIB, Rochestown Park Hotel, Jansee Biologics, Marinocem Dynea, Irish Water, Healys Safety Passage West, Pepsico,Fresh and Fast, O’Donovans Off Licence, Tayto Ireland.

Thanks to Eoin Barry and all Pasaiste OG for doing the bbq at short notice. Thanks to St Peters School, Star of the Sea School, local Housing estates and the Docks for the use of their grounds to park cars and buses. Thanks to the local road sweeper for helping us clean the car park this really saved us loads of time. A really BIG Thank you John O’Byrne of the rowing club who worked hard from 7am until 7pm in making sure we had enough water for the day.The registration crew Sue O’Flynn, Noreen Corkery and Mary Wilkie. Thanks to all the Field coordinators and all the referees who all did a great job. The rubbish pikers Eddie and Martin. The electrician on the day Michael O’Mahony. The lotto crew Ray and John.

Thanks to DJ Shane who was brilliant on the day. Thanks to Noel Marshall who invented the BACK BALLER and all the free Back Ballers he gave out. Thanks to Megan Farr for all the promotion work before and after the blitz.

A special thanks to all our guest on the day Cork County Board delegate Kieran Keane, Our local Councillors Marcia Dalton, Michael Frick Murphy, Seamus Mc Grath and TD Michael Mc Grath. Carrigaline pipe band, The Cork inter County players from different age groups and the All Ireland winning minor team and their under 16 Munster winning team. Thanks to the Passage West girls under 14 football team who won the County this year. Tony Foley for the updating the blitz website and putting the website together.

All the young boys and girls who gave up their time to make this day a success by helping out with different jobs. Thanks to all the ladies who sorted the registration out. Seamus and Karl for sorting out the parade. Congrats to Mallow lady birds on winning best colourful team in the parade in memory of Ken Sutherland. Well done to St Nicks who won the Back Baller facebook likes and share competition. A big thank you to Laoise and Katie, Kelly and all the staff who worked so hard all day in the shop. Also a very big thank you Mary Wilkie and all the gang that served tea and coffee all day plus John O and all the bar staff for the great service they gave all day and at the disco that night. Thanks to all the volunteers, referees, all the gang who took pictures on the day.

Thanks for all your prayers as we were blessed with the weather again this year. Hope to see you all again next year.
